employs the expertise of a number of Thermal Analysis
Consultants and companies. One type of thermal analysis
is Computation Fluid Dynamics or CFD.

|
A CFD analysis is a thermal simulation of the product
utilizing a 3D computer generated airflow model including
the fans and the heat loads in the product. The result
of the simulation is a computer predicted analysis of
air flow direction, and speed along with component and
air temperatures throughout the product. If a more realistic
analysis is required, a physical airflow model can be
constructed utilizing the selected fans and simulating
the heat loads on the boards with resistance heaters.
The model is probed with both air flow and thermal sensors
and then run. Data from the probes is collected in locations
throughout the product and analyzed accordingly. |
